In 2014, Dixons and Carphone Warehouse merged to form Dixons Carphone, Europe’s leading specialist electrical and telecommunications retailer and services company. The new company operates across nine different countries.

Dixons Carphone boasts over 1,300 stores across the UK, operating under a number of well known brands, including Currys, PC World and Carphone Warehouse. Dixons Carphone strives to provide unparalleled expertise and service, helping their customers make informed buying decisions in the digital age.

Company Background

GSA first started providing cleaning services to the Dixons Group in 2013, after being recommended as a highly credible retail cleaning contractor by one of GSA’s customers, Marks and Spencer.

GSA was initially awarded 78 Currys and PC World stores in Scotland, North England and Northern Ireland, and a contract for 2 years. A different supplier being awarded the remaining estate.

Following highly successful service delivery over the initial 2-year contract, the Dixons Group awarded GSA the national contract. This increased GSA's portfolio to 420 Currys and PC World stores across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

GSA provides daily store cleaning, janitor services, and window cleaning services for Dixons Carphone across the estate in stores that vary from 1,600 to 64,000 square feet in area.

Dixons Carphone is working to consolidate its newly merged estate, and we are pleased to be supporting them as they do this by proactively managing the change to cleaning staff requirements with minimal cost or impact to them.

As a dynamic contractor, we have successfully responded to peaks in trading patterns, including Black Friday and other key date events throughout the year. This ensures stores are presented in the best condition despite the impacts of heavy trading.


GSA proposed, and successfully delivered cost savings through the re training of staff to clean to an output specification, dramatically improving productivity as a result.

GSA has also converted the window cleaning operation to be delivered by its own site-based staff, equipping and training them to do so. This change of delivery method has saved cost and improved standards and flexibility for Dixons Carphone.
