We’re delighted to welcome Keith McSloy to the GSA team! And with all team onboarding, we always like to start with a few questions…đ
First impressions of GSA?
I have been very impressed with the level of commitment and professionalism in the people I have met and work with. It does appear we have a passion to be the best and to ensure we look after every client to a high level.
Biggest challenge in my new role?
Like most companies the biggest challenge at present in the UK is recruitment. It’s a national problem as the pool of people we used to have has diminished significantly. Finding quality, reliable, and dedicated staff is by far the biggest challenge.
First job?
I started out after leaving school working for a commercial window cleaning company which was owned by a family friend. After 4 years, the owner retired due to ill health and I bought the company as I could see the potential for expansion. We grew the company then sold it after 9 years.
What led you to a career in cleaning?
When I sold my window cleaning company, I worked as an account manager for the company who bought my contracts. Initially I looked after only window cleaning. but this soon expanded into contract cleaning and support service contracts.
What energises you at work?
I have always enjoyed solving problems and accepting challenges. Each day I face different challenges and my day can change numerous times. I have always enjoyed the fast-paced environment and having to make instant decisions. Also, I like meeting different people and helping them achieve their goals whatever they may be.
What drains you at work?
Easy answer to this – negativity, and hearing âwe can’t do thatâ.
Any particular work accomplishments you are proud of?
There is not one specific accomplishment, but I feel proud when a member of staff has gone on to achieve their goals and I have helped them get there.
